Tyne Carnival

Opening the festival in the perfect way, come and join Rumba NE, Dale Burundanga, Meze Mundo, World Beaters Music Samba Band, Newcastle University Salsa Band, Sports for Youth Academy for the very first Tyne Carnival! It takes place along Northumberland Street from 11am at the south end of Northumberland Street near Peacocks and the south entrance to Fenwick's. It features live Latin American music, colourful costumes, dance and percussion to light up the streets!

Tyne Carnival is delivered by Rumba NE, Musica Mundo and ¡VAMOS!

You don't need to have any experience, as you will receive choreographic training. Just the desire to have a go and dance along with live music bands. We have high hopes for this event becoming firmly embedded in the region - so get involved! More info on the Facebook call-out. The Carnival party continues at the Newcastle Green Festival with an extra parade at Leazes Park, at 3pm. This will be followed by live performances by Rumba NE and Dale Burundanga from 4pm to 5pm.
