Salsa Amor
 
Held every Friday at the Black Swan, Salsa Amor is renowned for the friendly atmosphere! On Friday 24th June, Salsa-Amor becomes part of the ¡VAMOS! Festival. To celebrate we have invited the internationally-known Cuban salsa teacher and DJ, Lazaro Lopez with his wife, Paola, to create a genuine Havana-flavoured experience!

Lazaro Lopez graduated in 1989 from the renowned Escuela Nacional de Arte (ENA) in Havana, where his dance training covered every aspect of Cuban dance and Latin styles, including Contemporary, Classic, Folklore, Popular and Salsa, specializing in Afro-Cuban. Lazaro went straight on to work as a principal dancer with prominent Afro-Cuban folkloric dance companies such as Raices Profundas, Pinos Nuevos, and the Compañia Folklorica Cubana J.J.

Since then Lazaro has been dancing and teaching with his partner Paola Lopez, a talented dancer who possesses an outstanding and distinctive style, blending elements of Son, Rumba, and Afro-Cuban into her Salsa dancing, with passion and vitality. They have established themselves as leading exponents of Cuban music, dance and culture, and currently teach and perform in events all over the UK and Europe, such as The LatinFest Weekender, Salsa Kingdom Congress, AfroCuban Salsa Fiesta, The Latin Collective Weekender, Chemnitz Salsa Festival.

Start the evening with Lazaro and Paola's Beginners/ Warm-Up Salsa lesson, followed by their Cuban Intermediate class (see times below).

Then dance the night away until late with the best selection of Latin music brought to you by our resident DJ, David B and guest DJs!

If you’ve never tried salsa dancing before, now’s your chance!

Absolute beginners’class: 7.45pm - 8.30pm
Intermediate class: 8.45pm - 9.30pm
Club dancing until 1am
