Bumbumbox Artists Talk

Matias Aguayo and Capracara give an exclusive free talk on Saturday 18th June, 1pm, at the Novak Studios, Newcastle.  They will discuss their collaboration, the Bumbumbox project,the Cómeme label, using the internet to access other peripheral cultural contexts and reinventing public spaces for independent projects.

For the last 4 months they have embarked on a unique collaboration, Selección Transatlántica utilising online social tools to develop a new electronic music commission together. This new work will be performed live at Newcastle’s Grey's Monument as part of a special Bumbumbox event on Friday 17 June between 12pm - 3pm.

The Bumbumbox project began after a fire in the night club 'Cromañon' in Buenos Aires in 2004 in which almost 200 people died. It marked a shift in restrictions on night life in Buenos Aires, as well as the necessity to reinvent spaces for independent projects. 

Following the talk Matias, Capracara and Ana Helder also DJs at the now legendary free outdoor ¡VAMOS! parties at Newcastle’s Tyne Bar from 6pm -11pm on Saturday 18th June, 6pm-11pm.
