The SummerTyne free outdoor programme continues with an afternoon of summer sounds from Latin lands and Caribbean climes.

The afternoon will include a welcome return visit by Brazilian singer Monica Vasconcelos - a great hit at the 2008 Gateshead International Jazz Festival - an up tempo set from Alex Wilson and his Salsa Orchestra, the North East premiere of the newly formed Baghdaddies Big Band (whom we are sure for this occasion will develop some Latin touches!) and will conclude with a 90 minute reggae sequence in association with Boss Sounds featuring Earl 16, one of the greats of Jamaican music, the superb roots singer and voice of Dreadzone, plus Prince Malachi, making his debut in Gateshead, whom many regard as the future of UK reggae.
