Pe Na Rua Bloco Carnival
Sunday at the Mouth of the Tyne Festival kicks off with a colourful parade on a Lusophone theme. World Beaters will combine youngsters from 12 schools in North Tyneside as they parade through Tynemouth with music, dance and specially produced costumes. At the heart of the procession will be Pe Na Rua Bloco Carnival - a Brasilian carnival with performers, dancers, drummers and singers. The parade will wrap up at Tynemouth Priory where the afternoon's musical entertainment get underway!

imageLA 33
LA 33 began in 2002, flourishing as part of the underground scene in Bogotá and have since enjoyed ecstatic receptions all over Latin America, the US and Europe. Their goal has been to take salsa back to its deepest roots but with an urban spin that identifies them with the musical experiences of a vast metropolis like Bogotá. The band members come from varied musical backgrounds including rock, funk, ska, folk, classical, fusion and jazz which is surely a secret of their success!

imageSierra Maestra Formed in 1976 Sierra Maestra have played a major part in reviving the 'son' tradition from which modern day salsa derives. Key members also perform in the likes of the Afro-Cuban Allstars, Buena Vista Social Club and Cubanismo, means their pedigree is unquestioned. We are privileged to welcome them to ¡VAMOS! and Tynemouth Priory.
