Hi, I’m Rich, one of the Positive Brasil crew, a collective of people here in Newcastle with a passion for the joy and spirit of Brasil and on a mission to share that with all you good people! We’ve joined with Nik and his awesome ¡VAMOS! festival to create some great Brasilian vibes along the way. Look out for us at World Cup specials and playing great music at events across the programme.
I’ve been in thrall to Brasil and all things Brasilian since travelling there in 2002. I went to experience what I had heard was the biggest party in the world – Carnaval – and then stuck around and discovered there’s an even bigger party - it’s called Brasil winning the World Cup! GAH!
Even more importantly though (yes, really) I realised they had a secret to living which we can all learn from - smile whatever comes your way, live for now and free your spirit. Simple, huh? That’s what we try to embody at Positive Brasil and what connects us fundamentally with the ethos of the ¡VAMOS! Festival.
It’s fantastic that thanks to Nik and his vision for ¡VAMOS! we now have an opportunity here in Newcastle to celebrate the joy and passion of all Latin American cultures. Come and dance, meet great people and be amazed at the diversity of talent and ideas. Most importantly just remember to smile and let yourself go! VAI LA!
