Newcastle becoming more latin-cultural
By: Alvaro Duvan Jativa
Since my arrival to the UK I started the process of adapting to the English way of life, at the beginning it was very difficult, like a dream, sometimes you don't know where you were going (or at least that happened to me), but then I started to discover opportunities and my hope of being in a country where people value your skills, your thoughts, your culture..., then after years England starts giving you what you deserve... A VERY PROMISING FUTURE.
Newcastle is a promising region, modern city with significant shadows of the past, classic buildings and heritage, nowadays as the Capital of the North East of England loads of people from different cultures want to welcome you. We as the latin community are keen to offer "diversity of people, products and services which may be of the interest for English as well as for international visitors". We, the Latin American people among South Americans, Central Americans and Caribbeans have a passion to share, an unique style to smile and a very tricky way to have things done; ¡VAMOS! is a good example of getting to know the Latinos (artists) living in Newcastle.
Newcastle is changing, is growing... why don't you contribute to help develop
this new English Culture? my son Jonathan is doing it, and he is only 2 years old!
If you would like to be part of the Latin American Community of the North East of England then I'd be happy for you to contact me (alvaro.jativa@sunderland.ac.uk) or alternatively, contact ¡VAMOS!
